First launched in 2007, CIC's IWOM roundtable platform promotes deeper understanding about IWOM and consists of different elements as described below.

IWOM Roundtable is one of CIC's communication platforms aimed at IWOM related industries and clients. Initiated by CIC, IWOM Roundtable aims to share updated IWOM information, discuss questions and achievements of IWOM development and gradually promote and improve the IWOM industry.

Assistant Professor Zhang Zhi’an, Douban Senior Planning manger Ye Fei, CIC Research and Consulting Business Unit Senior Director Tina Hu, CIC Research and Consulting Business Unit Director Magic Zhang, Associate Director of Ogilvy Public Relations(Guangzhou) Vincent Gao and RenRen Planning Director Qingjing Ma discussed the development of social business in China in 2012 from the perspective of 3rd party research institutes, internet enterprises, agencies and academics. The interactive session gave way to an open dialogue about social media’s development in China and the effective application social business for brands.


 
Crisis Management in the Microblog Era

On the 21st and 23rd of February, CIC hold a panel about “Crisis Management in the Microblog Era” at Shanghai Portman Ritz-Calton Hotel and Beijing Regent Hotel, in collaboration with Ogilvy PR. The panel shared the research and practice of crisis management in the microblog era. In addition to analyzing the biggest crises in order to determine implications for crisis management, we also suggest ways that brands can mitigate the risk.
